362 ci Engine Rules
1. Engine must be based on an American factory design and must be naturally aspirated (carburated) STEEL BLOCK ONLY!!
2. No stroking or destroking, maximum cubic inch is 362ci.
3.Stock bore + .060 over maximum Chevy and Ford.
4. CHEVY-
Stroke can be no less than 3.480 and no more than 3.500
Bore is to be no less than 4.000 with a maximum bore size of 4.060
5. FORD-
Stroke is to be 3.500 maximum
Bore is to be no less than 4.000 with a maximum bore size of 4.060
6. CHRYSLER-
Stroke is to be 3.580
Bore is to be no less than 4.000 with a maximum bore size of 4.030
7. RODS- NO TITANUM !!
Any rod length billet or 300m OK
No piston guided rods !!
8. PISTONS-
Any dome or flat top piston must have three rings, no two ring pistons.
10. CAMSHAFTS-
Any camshaft. Roller bearings OK, 50mm journals OK. Any roller lifters OK, must have link bar. No keyed or guided lifters.
11. HEADS- Aluminum heads OK
Chevy must have OEM valve angle. Any 23 degrees head plus or minus 2 degrees valve angle 25 degrees to 21 degrees, NO EXCEPTIONS
Ford must have stock OEM valve degree.
Ford 302/351W style head is 20 degrees plus or minus 2 degrees valve angle will be 22 degrees to 18 degrees, NO EXCEPTIONS
Ford 351C or Yates style head OK. May use C3 and D3 heads.
Ford 351C or Yates style head valve angle will be intake 11 degrees, exhaust valve angle will be 9.5 degrees to 8.5 degrees. NO EXCEPTIONS
No SVO 351N or 352N 10 DEGREE HEADS ALLOWED !!
Chrysler must have OEM valve angle. Valve angle will be 13 degrees plus or minus 1 degrees. Valve angle will be 12 degrees to 14 degrees, NO EXCEPTIONS. Can use W8,W9 Mopar Performance head.
12. HEADS-
Stainless valves OK, titanium valves OK, must have a valve stem size of .341-11/32. No smaller for any makes. Any valve spring, any retainer, any stud or shaft mounted roller rocker arm is engine builder’s option. Port and polish OK. All heads will have 1 spark plug per cylinder and 2 valves per cylinder.
13. MANIFOLDS-
No exotic intakes, ie. Sheet metal or plastic or two piece manifolds. Cast only. Porting and polishing OK.
14. No fuel injection devices, electric fuel pumps, turbo chargers or blowers permitted.
15. Fuel pump block type or block mounted piston type OK. Belt driven pumps OK.
16. MSD or magnetos are permitted. Must have operating starter.
17. Wet or dry sump systems OK.
18. Carburator is limited to one Holley 4150 series four barrel. Air horn optional. Must maintain a 4150 base plate and gasket pattern. Gas or alcohol only. No other restrictions or rules on carburators.
ALL PARTS MUST BE OF CONFIGURATION UNLESS OTHERWISE LISTED !! |
