2009 MINI STOCKS RULES

2009 MINI STOCKS

(FORMERLY KNOWN AS MODIFIED MINI'S)

1. COMPETING MODELS:
Any four Cylinder American or Foreign made production sedan. No Sports cars,Convertibles,High Performance Cars,Station Wagons,Turbo or Rotary Cars.

2. BODY:
After market bodies are legal. Trunk and engine compartments must be sealed from drivers department with a steel firewall. No hood scoops. Must have safety bars in front of driver. Must pass safety and technical inspection. Spoiler's maximum 6 inches high may not exceed width of rear deck. CARS MUST HAVE FACTORY FIREWALL AND FLOORPAN TO THE REAR OF THE DRIVER-enclosed compartment ok.

3. SUSPENSION:
Stock type suspension. Changing of springs permitted. Optional coil over front only. Lowering blocks and wedge bolts permitted. Strut cars may use adjustable plates for caster camber adjustments. Frame may be tied together with box tubing. Tube chassis ok, must be tied to driver compartment. Rear suspension optional. No after market rack and pinions.

4. ENGINE:
Must sit in original location. No porting or polishing. No 2000 truck engines. Note: String upper ball joint centers-front of engine block must be less than 1 inch behind line.

HEADS:
No aftermarket or 4 valve heads permitted. Overhead cam heads may have cam towers reinforced. Overhead cams may machine lifters bosses for lash adjusters.

VALVE JOB:
Three angle permitted. Valves: Stainless ok. Must be stock diameter for engine. May use after market springs retainers and locks. No Titanium anywhere.

PISTONS:
Any float top maximum .060 overbore plus wear.

RODS:
Steel rods only. May change rod bolts and float pin end of rod.

CRANKSHAFTS:
Stock cranks only. No lightweight or knife edging. May balance with normal balancing procedures. (IE Drilling or adding heavy metal).

BLOCKS:
Stock blocks only. No after markets. Piston may no protrude from deck. Head and main studs optional.

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:
Valve covers,oil pans,air filter, camshaft, headers and timing gears. No roller gears. No roller can lifters or rocker arms.

5. CARBURETOR:
Factory stock carburetor or stock factory replacement carburetor or any track approved two-barrel no to exceed 500 CFM. May run Holley 4412 500 CFM two-barrel. Removal of choke butterflies and shaft permitted. May change jets. CARBURETOR ADAPTER: May be made of aluminum or material to isolate heat. May not exceed 1" height.

6. IGNITION:
Must be stock type. Battery operated. Optional after market MSD-ok. No crank triggered.

7. FUEL:
Gasoline only! May run electric fuel pumps with oil pressure cut off switch and master electrical shut-off switch. Accessible to driver and safety personnel.

8. TRANSMISSION:
Stock type must have all forward and reverse gears. Steel drive shafts only. Must be painted white.

9. REAR END:
Interchanging of rear ends and transaxles permitted. Locked differential permitted.

10. CLUTCH:
Stock diameter steel flywheel and clutch assembly only 8lbs minimum.

11. BRAKES:
Must have four wheel operating brakes. May run aftermarket pedals and master cylinders.

12. TIRES/WHEELS:
8"Wide track approved racing tires permitted. Hoosier 22.5/8.0-13RC4 or 23.0/8.0-13 RC4. Steel wheel only 8" maximum width. Oversized studs and lugs permitted for safety 13 inch tires only. Right rear beadlock optional.

13. FUEL CELL:
Mandatory!!! Must pass safety inspection

14. BATTERY:
May be relocated and must be covered and securely strapped down. Cars must be self starting at all times.

15. WEIGHT:
One pound per CC with driver after the race. Minimum weight 2100 lbs. Three Valve heads must add 150lbs.
