2009 4 Cylinder Bomber Rules
1. PURPOSE - to provide an entry level stock car racing for NEW NOVICE BEGINNER and INEXPERIENCED DRIVERS. You will be racing for a small purse and trophies. ( If you get carried away with building your car you will find yourself in the Mini Stock Division.) This class is a beginner type class. It is for new drivers to get in and have a good time for very little money. We do not want professional or experienced drivers to get in this class. We will not allow an experienced driver to dominate the class.
2. COMPETING MODELS - Any 4 cyl. vehicle on the original frame with factory body NO SPECIAL ORDER, X MINI STOCK SPORTS CAR OR TURBO CHARGED VEHICLES ALLOWED.
3. BODY - Remove all glass,exterior trim,excess metal,seats,interior headliner and all flammable material from interior. Rear compartment must be sealed from the drivers compartment with steel firewall. No decking behind driver. A MINIMUM 4 point roll cage 1.50 x .095 required with properly mounted seat and a 5 point harness. Must have safety bars in front of driver. Doors must be welded shut. Hood and trunk hinges must be in stock location. Latches must be removed and hood pins installed. Doors may be gutted for roll bar clearance only. Trunk floor may be cut for fuel cell installation. Holes in firewall must be plugged. Front end in front of the strut towers may be fabricated after a wreck. MUST HAVE TOW CHAINS ON THE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS. FIRE EXTINGUISHER MUST BE INSTALLED PROPERLY WITHIN REACH OF THE DRIVER. MUST HAVE A BATTERY CUTOFF SWITCH INSTALLED AND CLEARLY MARKED.
4. SUSPENSION - Must remain complete. Stock right front spring may be replaced with a heavy spring for safety. All other springs will be stock. this will be checked on a regular basis.
5. ENGINE - Stock engine for make and model may not exceed the factory specs for compression and vacuum. This also will be checked on a regular basis. The driver must provide the factory specs for his car on request of the tech inspector. Motor manual,chilton manual etc. no factory cast headers 2300 ford motors .030 over bore is all that is allowed. Engines may be reconditioned using factory spec. parts.
6. STOCK CARBURETOR - Fuel injection system for that make an model. No rotary engines. No turbos allowed. Dual Overhead cam is allowed.
7. STOCK TRANSMISSION - for that make and model.
8. BATTERY - may be relocated but must be in a marine type box and be fastened properly. All cars must be self started at all times. Battery must be secured inside car.
9. REAR END - Must be completely stock. No locked or limited slip only one wheel may drive the car. Driver shafts must be painted white.
10. PASSENGER TIRES ONLY - wheels and tires must be of like size. Stock wheels only with a maximum width of 5" inside bead to bead. Tire sizes: 13" may be no larger 185-70-13. 14" tires may be no larger than 195-70-14. May double plate wheels and use bigger lugs. DOT tires,Trailer Tires,6" rims with 3" offset allowed. Wheels must be stock for the make and model. 6" MAXIMUM tire and wheel width. All tires will be the same series. NO RACING TIRES, NO ALUMINUM WHEELS.
11. GAS TANK - If stock gas tank is ahead of rear axle, it may remain in place. IF stock gas tank is behind rear axle, it must be replaced with a fuel cell or boat tank(max.of 8 gallons). Fuel cell/boat tank must be covered, secured and located in the trunk.
12. AIR BAGS - If equipped, must be disarmed, discharged or removed.
13. BRAKES - MUST SLIDE ALL 4 WHEELS AND MUST BE STOCK FOR CAR USED.
14. DRIVERS DOOR - Must be welded or chained shut. Drivers side door plate MANDATORY
15. ROLL BARS MANDATORY - 4 point roll cage mounted with 2 points mounting behind the driver and 2 in front, OPTIONAL: Drivers side minimum of 2 horizontal crash bars should be installed connection the down bars of the roll cage to protect the driver from side impact, or a minimum single loop behind the driver.
16. APPROVED HELMETS - (snell 95 or better), race type seatbelts (4 or 5 point Harness minimum), and gloves required. A double layer fire suit is MANDATORY.
17. WINDOW NET MANDATORY - fire extinguisher in driver cockpit is MANDATORY.
18. WEIGHT - All cars must weigh a MINIMUM of 2200 lbs. with the driver after race.
19. All GLASS REMOVED - including tail lights,markers, and mirrors. Third brake light must remain intact and operable. To compete all cars must be cleaned out from any loose material, broken glass, etc. full window screen MANDATORY.
20. DRIVER FLOOR PAN - must be complete. NO HOLES.
21. ALL CARS - are subject to a minimum specification inspection at any time. It is the responsibility of the driver to prepare their car free from defects and in safe racing conditions.
22. CAR NUMBERS - must be at least 24" tall and contrasting color.
23. NO - suggestive language, symbols or number allowed on cars.
24. THE RACE WILL BE RED FLAGGED - If a car or debris is in harms way at flagmans discretion. All cars must stop wherever they are, at the time of the red flag.
25. THREE DEGREE - chamber is allowed
26. ALL OTHER PARTS - are strictly stock

These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official.
The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alterations of specifications. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their discretion of the official rules. Their discretion is final.
The Absence of a specific rule does not imply approval, consent or permission regarding that subject. Any questions or doubts should be directed to a Tech Official. Usually if you have to ask, The answer is NO. KEEP THEM STOCK AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY TROUBLE.
